垃圾堆是一個游戲前期區(qū)域，這里覆蓋著堆積如山的垃圾，和遍布水蛭（Leechs）的綠色水池。是作為僧侶或求生者進行游戲時跟隨監(jiān)視者的指引進入的第三個區(qū)域，它還是工匠模式的初始區(qū)域。同時也是大群拾荒者（Scavenger）扎根的家園。
——總覽
垃圾堆是一個十分寬廣的區(qū)域，主要由三個水平的平行區(qū)塊組成，中間的區(qū)塊從西邊的工業(yè)區(qū)連接至東邊的海岸線，在那里可以看到一個拾荒者收費站把守著通往海岸線的大門，上層的區(qū)塊通向一個獨特的拾荒者據(jù)點，內含兩個競技場代幣和大群的拾荒者，這個據(jù)點由另一個拾荒者收費站把守。這兩層區(qū)塊都在地表以上，使玩家暴露在禿鷲（Vulture）的視線之下，地圖的最底層區(qū)塊，也就是第三層區(qū)塊則位于地表之下，這一層的最東邊可以看到大量滋生的黃長腿菌（Brother Long Legs）。
垃圾堆是所有區(qū)域中拾荒者數(shù)量最多的區(qū)域，拾荒者商人也同理。由于垃圾蟲（Garbage Worm）在該地區(qū)隨處可見，使得矛和炸矛的失竊事件十分常見。

此時間段適用于僧侶，求生者，獵手，饕餮，溪流和圣徒。除了外觀，生物生成和腐化物的位置發(fā)生了各種變化外，垃圾堆與散布在其中的拾荒者群和珍珠仍保持相對一致。

此時間段適用于工匠和矛大師。傾盆大雨DLC新增的垃圾堆變體，酸水垃圾場（wiki原文為Garbage Wastes(Past)，中文社區(qū)的酸水垃圾場只是對過去的垃圾堆的一個綽號），其特點是更加富含工業(yè)時期的建筑風格，幾乎所有的剩余結構都含有大量的酸水池。

——你知道嗎
在GW_A14（烈焰蜥蜴代幣）房間中，水位實際上并沒有完全覆蓋這個房間，因此可以坐在頂部的管道連接內而不會溺水。
下層區(qū)塊中的天花板上的兩個代幣可以將矛當作桿子使用來收集，也可以在GW_E01房間抓一只蟬烏賊過來。
垃圾堆—陰影城堡的新增業(yè)力門是傾盆大雨DLC新增的本體區(qū)域之間僅有的兩個新增連接之一，另一個是排水系統(tǒng)—煙囪天棚。
在酸水垃圾場中，禿鷲只能進入拾荒者據(jù)點附近的房間（據(jù)點本身除外），而且會優(yōu)先進入收費前的兩個房間，因為其他房間都被設置為了“禁止”（'forbidden'）。
