近日， 中國工程院2019年院士增選有效候選人名單公布，最終確定的有效候選人共531位。來自企業(yè)的候選人有114位，百度的李彥宏、阿里巴巴的王堅、比亞迪的王傳福等，皆榜上有名。

Li was one of 531 candidates, including 114 entrepreneurs, who might become academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering at the end of the year, according to a statement released by the academy on April 30.

根據(jù)中國工程院4月30日發(fā)布的名單，李彥宏是531名候選人之一，候選人中包括114名企業(yè)家，他們可能在今年年底當選為中國工程院院士。

Other nominees include e-commerce giant Alibaba's technology chief Wang Jian, carmaker BYD founder Wang Chuanfu, and Microsoft computer engineer Harry Shum. The candidates will be subject to a strict selection process, and only around 10 to 15 percent of them will be granted the prestigious title.

其他提名者還包括電子商務巨頭阿里巴巴的技術(shù)總監(jiān)王堅，汽車制造商比亞迪的創(chuàng)始人王傳福，以及微軟的電腦工程師沈向陽博士等。候選人將經(jīng)過嚴格的選拔程序，只有大約10%到15%的人能獲得這一殊榮。

其中，百度董事長兼首席執(zhí)行官李彥宏的提名引起巨大爭議。甚至有網(wǎng)友呼吁“旗幟鮮明地反對李彥宏當選院士”。

Expert will make their choices, but some netizens in an anonymous WeChat poll opposed Li's nomination. More than 150,000 netizen in the poll voted no, with around 1,0000 voting for his nomination as of May 2. The poll was removed on Monday. Neither the academy nor Baidu responded to inquiries.

對于院士的選拔，專家將做出他們的選擇，但是一些網(wǎng)民在一項匿名的微信投票中反對李彥宏的提名。截至5月2日，超過15萬網(wǎng)友投了反對票，只有約10000人投票支持他的提名。該調(diào)查在周一被刪除，中國工程院和百度對此均未作出回應。

報報注意到，在提名渠道方面，李彥宏是由中國科協(xié)提名的，其專業(yè)為“新興交叉領域工程技術(shù)創(chuàng)新管理”。

據(jù)第一財經(jīng)周一報道，中國科協(xié)負責人在回應李彥宏提名時表示，主要是因為他對中國搜索引擎技術(shù)的貢獻。

Li was nominated by the China Association for Science and Technology mainly for his contribution to China's search engine technology, financial news outlet Yicai reported on Monday.?

Li was included in the candidate category known for its inclusion of innovative managers in new and interdisciplinary engineering sectors.

然而，在此次輿論爭議中，公眾對李彥宏成為院士候選人的質(zhì)疑，并非在科研方面的能力，而在其道德方面。

一直以來，百度搜索引擎在虛假廣告推廣方面一直飽受詬病，尤其是醫(yī)療廣告：

Zhou Jian, chairman of Beijing Gan'en Charity Foundation, said in a recent WeChat article that people should "resolutely oppose Li's nomination for academician", claiming Baidu has promoted fake medical advertisements in its search results that misled patients.

北京感恩公益基金會主席周健在微信最近的一篇文章中說，人們應該“堅決地反對李彥宏當選院士”，他表示百度在其搜索結(jié)果中推廣了虛假的醫(yī)療廣告，誤導了患者。

曾經(jīng)轟動全國的“魏則西事件”，讓百度受到各方面的強烈抨擊。

Baidu came under fire in 2016 when Wei Zexi, a 21-year-old student from Xidian University in Shaanxi province, died from a rare cancer of the soft tissue. Wei was researching the disease on Baidu and came across an advertisement for treatments that proved ineffective.

2016年，陜西省西安電子科技大學21歲的學生魏則西罹患罕見的軟組織癌，他在百度上尋找對這種疾病的治療方式時，看到一則百度推廣廣告，但事實證明這種治療無效，他也最終因病去世。百度因此受到強烈抨擊。

魏則西事件后，百度宣布對其醫(yī)療推廣業(yè)務進行全名重組和優(yōu)化：

After Wei's death, Baidu announced a sweeping restructuring and optimization of its medical business, especially regarding its paid listing practices. It also tightened regulations on medical promotion and enforced clear labeling rules that differentiate advertisements from credible medical information, according to media reports.

魏則西去世后，百度宣布對其醫(yī)療業(yè)務進行全面重組和優(yōu)化，尤其是在付費推廣、競價排名方面。據(jù)媒體報道，政府也加強了對醫(yī)療推廣的監(jiān)管，并實施了明確的標識規(guī)定，將廣告與可信的醫(yī)療信息區(qū)分開來。

不過，醫(yī)療廣告收入仍是百度主要收入來源之一，同時利用百度推廣進行醫(yī)療詐騙的事件時有發(fā)生。

However, medical advertising remains one of the key sources of income for Baidu, and some are still trying to exploit the system. In April, the police in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, detained a team of medical fraudsters who drove up rankings on Baidu's research results to promote faulty hospitals to patients, local authorities said.

然而，醫(yī)療廣告仍然是百度的主要收入來源之一，一些公司仍在試圖利用這一系統(tǒng)牟利。今年4月，廣東省深圳市警方逮捕了一眾醫(yī)療詐騙犯，他們通過利用百度搜索結(jié)果排名，向患者宣傳“莆田”醫(yī)院。

反對者表示，《中國工程院院士科學道德守則》指出，院士在科學道德方面應該成為科技界的楷模，院士要接受社會監(jiān)督，正確對待批評和投訴?！皩τ谂u意見，要本著‘有則改之、無則加勉’的原則虛心借鑒，必要時作出實事求是的答復。”

當然，也有為李彥宏鳴冤的，認為他本人沒有違法亂紀和道德敗壞的問題，百度的責任不應該由他一人來承擔，且李彥宏本人在搜索引擎及人工智能研究方面的成就有目共睹。

比如數(shù)字經(jīng)濟智庫副院長、國家關系學院教授儲殷就公開力挺李彥宏。他說，中國工程院院士的評選范圍本來就是應用科技領域，李彥宏夠得上這個標準。

2018年，作為海歸創(chuàng)業(yè)報國推動科技創(chuàng)新的優(yōu)秀代表，李彥宏被授予“改革開放先鋒”稱號，有媒體評價他“用近20年時間將百度打造成中國乃至全球領先的科技企業(yè)，成為助推中國互聯(lián)網(wǎng)發(fā)展的實踐者”。

中國工程院相關人士對第一財經(jīng)記者表示，這種爭議的存在，正符合中國工程院公布增選人名單的意圖，公布名單的目的就是要接受社會監(jiān)督，這不是最終結(jié)果，最終還是需要再進行評選和審查。
